Visit the Dallas Arts District: The City’s Cultural Treasure

Just three minutes from our Uptown Dallas apartments is the city’s greatest cultural treasure.

We’re talking about the Dallas Arts District, and it’s a hub for architecture, museums, and performing arts.

At 69 acres and 19 blocks long, it’s one of the largest urban arts districts in the country. Visitors come from around the world, and highlights include:

Lotus Shop

Designed using feng shui, the Lotus Shop features a carefully curated selection of Asian-inspired gifts and collectibles. The designers take inspiration from the Crow Museum’s incredible works of art. They create everything from jewelry to home goods, and the shop is the perfect place to take a memory home.

Wyly Theatre

Called one of the most versatile theaters in the world, the Wyly Theatre can be shaped into numerous configurations. Its resident company, the Dallas Theater Center, gains national attention. The company originated in 1959, and its programming makes a significant mark on the Dallas community. The actors entertain, engage, and inspire audiences. They perform both classic and contemporary plays and strive to spark lively conversations. The company welcomes over 90,000 North Texans every year and offers a night you won’t soon forget.

Stephen Pyles Flora Street Cafe

With limited seating, Stephen Pyles Flora Street Cafe is an intimate restaurant featuring a modern, sleek setting. Chef Pyles is a fifth-generation Texan who became interested in cooking at a young age. Today, he’s recognized as the founding father of modern Texas cuisine. The eatery offers a dining experience that’s not soon forgotten. It’s perfect for date night, and reservations are required. Menu offerings include seared salmon, lobster tamale pie, and Berkshire pork tenderloin.
