Just five minutes from The Christopher is a vibrant destination featuring art galleries, interior design showrooms, and fine dining establishments.
We’re talking about the Dallas Design District, and it’s one of the city’s trendiest neighborhoods.
Known for creating jewelry for the wall, Phil Crawshay offers inspiring images from around the world. He captures them using a gigapixel imaging system which is a robotic, computer controlled camera that takes pictures in a sectional format that joins to make one huge image. The equipment was developed by NASA, and Phil prints the photos on a special metallic paper which uniquely reflects light.
Joseph Minton Antiques
When Joseph Minton served as a Personnel Officer in England, he became passionate about European antiques and design. Today, he runs his own antique store and is a nationally recognized designer whose work frequently appears in publications such as Texas Homes and Southern Accents. Joseph frequently travels to acquire new pieces, and the selection includes American Hepplewhite chairs, 19th-century tables, and French candle lamps.
LMB Art Glass
During a trip to San Antonio, Margie Weidenbaker became inspired by the quality art glass she discovered during her trip. Once home in Topeka, she decided to open her own gallery which was a local institution for twenty years. Today, her daughter Brooke carries on her legacy at LMB Art Glass, and she focuses on diversity with items ranging from jewelry to free-form focal pieces. One of the artists not to be missed is Paul Harrie. He’s known for making vases using classic shapes and striking colors, and he has created unique works since 1980.
